All Vesuvio guests can participate to some excursions to discover the most beautiful neighbouring areas. In fact Vesuvio practises conventions to organise daily trips by van departing from the B&B.
The following visits are possibile:
- Capri by boat: every day
- Amalfi coast: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
- Eat, pray and love Naples : Tuesday and Sunday
- Dinner in Positano : Tuesday and Sunday
Fuocomuorto B&B stands along the road to the Vesuvius Gran Cono that is far 8 km.
Along the road you can look at the open air exposition called “Creator Vesevo” by sculptor Lello Esposito.
From the 1000 meters parking area, you can buy an entrance ticket and walk along a 860 meters path that leads you to the west crater at 1170 meters; the difference in level is 135 meters with an inclination of 14%
Inside, the crater presents a hole 350 meters deep, with a 1500 meters circonference, where you can observe water steam fumaroles
The path leads in a few time to the « capannuccia » at 1170 meters and, walking around it, you can reach Vesuvius higher point at 1281 meters.
You’d better sportwear to walk along a mountain path.
The excursion takes a half-day including going there and back.

By car
Leaving the B&B, take the Vesuvio road after 250 meters. After8 km, you arrive to the 1000 meters level park area. The trip lasts about 20 minutes.
By private van
« Vesuvio Express » cooperative brings you there and back from circumvesuviana station to 1000 meters level parking area, there is a fixed timetable.
If you prefer public transport, you can catch a bus from Lago, Herculanum circumvesuviana station.

From B&B Vesuvio, go ahead toward contrada Croce dei monti, go over the main street crossing and, after the second cross road, turn left and you arrive at the excavation car park.
Before going back, you can visit the virtual archeological museum, MAV, a multimedia trip that brings you back in past to interact with the ancient town usages and costumes. The museum is only 150 meters from the excavations entrance.
There, you can also watch a multidimentional movie about the 79 D.C .great eruption described by Plinius.
How to get there
With your own car, just follow directions written above ; it takes 15 minutes.If you don’t have a car, B&B staff can take you there agrreding upon the price.
By car, leaving the B&B, take the motorway in Torre del Greco at about 3 km and follow the direction toward Salerno.
Leave the motorway in Pompei, turn left, then left again after 200 meters ; dierctions about the car park are on your right
By train, catch circumvesuviana line in. Ercolano – scavi, Ercolano – via Doglie orTorre del Greco stations, direction Sorrentoand go down at Pompei- villa dei misteri station. The entrance to the excavations is paying and you have to consider a full day trip to visiti it.
Naples is about 10 km far and it takes 20 minutes to get there by car.
Catch the motor way following Naples direction and Napoli centro directions. Leave your car in one of the car parks that allow you to don’t get into the city with your car.
If you choose the train, catch circumvesuviana in direction of Naples and get down at Napoli piazza Garibaldi station. There are trains every 30 minutes end the trip longs half an hour.
By car, drive 3 km untill the entrance to the motor way that you take in direction Salerno ; leave it after about 8 km at Castellamare di Stabia and go on following directions to « penisola sorrentina ».
After two tunnels, you reach the coastal road along which you will find the towns of Castellamare di Stabia, Vico Equense, Meta di Sorrento, Santa Agnello, Piano di Sorrento, Sorrento where you can easilyfind bathing establishments.
It takes about 50 minutes and 35 km from the B&B to reach Sorrento.
If you prefer going by train, catch circumvesuviana in Ercolano or Torre del Greco untill the end on the line, in Sorrento; the trip lasts for one hour.
Along the way, from Scraio station on, you can get down at any station et reach on foot one of the many bathing establishments situated in Vico Equense, Meta di Sorrento, Santa Agnello, Piano di Sorrento, Sorrento.
By car, from B&B, drive 3 km untill the entrance to the motor way A3 and take Salerno direction untill Vietri sul mare ; there, leave the motor way and follow Amalfi coast directions.
From Vietri sul Mare you can admire Amalfi caost unique and magnificent landscapes.
Driving along the coastal road for 60 km and crossing Amalfi, Positano, Maiori, Minori towns, you will reach Sorrento. From there, you can take Sorrento road that reaches the A3 motor way to go back.
If you go to Naples by train or car, you can reach Molo Beverello and take a ferryboat or an hydrofoil to Capri, Ischia e Procida choosing between different shipping companies.
The trip by hydrofoil lasts only 40 minutes. You can rerach Capri by ferryboat or hydrofoil as well from Sorrento.
