On 12th july 1980 Vincenzo Oliviero completed the realisation of the wine cellar, as it appears both from the legacy documents and from the date graved in the cellar stone wall. In the wine cellar they made and keeeped wine from their own vineyard in order to sell it to the neighbouring taverns and to drink it in Fuocomuorto’s inn.
You still can see the old wine presser that was used for the last time in 1906.
Following an eruption, the wine cellar was completetely buried by the fury of ash, sand and water lave. So, the wine presser has been kept for one hundred years under three meters of sand and ash.
The excavation works to reinforce the cellar stone voult made it reappear in december 2006.
Two rain water cisterns, still in use untill a few years ago, are in a good state of preservation.
